Most years, I have all my fall decorations up by this date. In fact, many times I’ve begun on September 1st, even though it’s not official and it’s definitely optimistic considering where I live (North Texas). People joke that there are four seasons in Texas — Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas. This is only partially untrue. Usually we get a brief shot of fall (which sometimes continues and takes the place of winter).

Tomorrow I intend to remedy my decoration-less state and welcome fall. Maybe it will help me get out of the ‘dog days’ of summer (no offense to dogs, of course) and get a little more energy going.
